Romania's crude oil production down 4.5% in January 2025; imports, up 15.6%

Romania produced 219,000 tonnes of crude oil equivalent (toe) in January 2025, 12,700 toe lower (-4.5%) compared to the same period of the previous year, according to data compiled by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Crude oil imports in the first month of 2025 totaled 840,700 toe, 113,500 toe higher than those recorded in January 2024 (+15.6%).
