Motor Neurone Disease is a condition that attacks the nerves that control movement so muscles no longer work. It currently has no cure and can quickly progress, taking away a person’s movement, voice and even the ability to breathe within months in some cases. Belfast actor Michael Campbell, also known as Michael Patrick, was diagnosed with the condition in February 2023. On April 8, 2026, his wife Naomi took to Instagram revealing that he had “passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends”
