US agrees two-week ceasefire with Iran

Donald Trump has hailed a new “golden age of the Middle East” after agreeing a two-week ceasefire with Iran. The US president said it was a “big day for world peace”, adding that “big money will be made” from the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The deal, brokered just an hour and a half before Mr Trump’s deadline to unleash “all hell” on the Islamic Republic, will take effect immediately and last for two weeks.
