Firefighters raced to a Lidl car park after a vehicle burst into flames in front of shoppers. The blaze ripped through the car and left its insides completely destroyed. A massive plume of smoke was seen pouring into the sky and hovering over the supermarket in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, just after 5pm on Monday. The burning vehicle was parked just inches away from neighbouring cars, with some having suffered heat damage as a result of the fire, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
