Police have launched a probe after a man was pulled from a canal near a Lidl supermarket and pronounced dead. Officers received an alert at 7.30am this morning and raced to a section of the Trent and Mersey Canal in Kidsgrove, Staffordshire, where the man was discovered. Police , paramedics, and firefighters all attended, and the man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene after fire crews recovered his body close to a Lidl supermarket. A cordon was placed around the scene as detectives
