Lidl worker caught in £316k 'gold bullion' scam' after pensioner targeted

A supermarket worker who was embroiled in a £316,000 gold bullion scam has been sentenced to 300 hours of unpaid work today. Michael Sajid received a package after an elderly woman, aged 84, was allegedly tricked into sending it. But the 38-year-old insisted to police that he had no involvement with any gold - and that he was on shift at Lidl when the deliveries were made.
