An Asda Express and an Esso petrol station have been cordoned off with forensic officers at the scene following an accident with a road closed. Emergency services have now been at the incident on Stockton Road in Seaham, County Durham, for more than four hours after a pedestrian was hit by a car with their condition unknown. It sparked a major response including the ambulance services sending a specialist team which deals with chemical spills. The full details of what happened are yet to emerge
