A note described as "unhinged" has been unearthed during renovations at The National Gallery 's Sainsbury Wing. Amid the debris, a letter from one of the original donors was found expressing disdain for architect Robert Venturi's design of hollow pillars in the wing. The disgruntled donor's sentiments were revealed in a letter discovered within one of Venturi's contentious pillars. The contents of the letter, shared on Twitter /X, have been dubbed as "my kind of petty" and "completely rational"
