Stargate series' new showrunner has pledged that something "extraordinary" is on the way. Reports first emerged three years ago that Amazon was keen to broaden the Stargate universe following their acquisition of MGM Studios, and now it's been officially confirmed that a brand new sci-fi programme is in development. Storyline details for the forthcoming series remain tightly guarded, though it's understood that Martin Gero will take on the roles of showrunner, writer and executive producer.
