EU-South Africa: Clean Trade and Investment Partnership

The Clean Trade and Investment Partnership (CTIP) between South Africa and the European Union was signed on 20 November 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa and is now being implemented.  The aim of the CTIP is to create new trade and investment opportunities for businesses in strategic, clean value chains, while at the same time supporting decarbonisation and just transition objectives, by increasing value production and innovation in South Africa. Concretely, CTIP will help with the following:
