Starring Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson as the titular pop superstar, the movie has been ravaged by critics. “This repetitive biopic is afraid to navigate the singer’s anxieties, traumas, and frustrations, and its flat characterizations prevent it from interrogating Michael as a creator or person,” Robert Daniels wrote for RogerEbert.
