The state pension age is rising from next week - in a move that will affect millions of future retirees. The state pension age for men and women is currently 66 - but it is set to rise to 67, starting from April 6, 2026. The first people that will be impacted are those born between April 6, 1960 and May 5, 1960. Anyone born between these dates will not be able to claim their state pension until they are aged 66 and one month. The state pension age will gradually keep increasing by one month
