England’s rampant, raucous army of fans have been the “12th man” at all the World Cups I’ve covered. The hundreds of thousands who have followed the Three Lions have impressively transformed from an angry aggressive group during Italia ’90 to an impeccably behaved roaring battalion in South Africa, Brazil, Russia and Qatar. They are already arriving here in Dallas. There are more families, more women and a couple of youngsters from Merseyside whose dad as taken them out of school for a week. “
