Italian wages have not kept pace with inflation says INPS

The average nominal wage of Italian workers has not kept pace with inflation in recent years leading to a significant drop in purchasing power, pensions-and-social-security agency INPS said in a report presented on Thursday. It said the average wages of private-sector workers (excluding domestics) rose by 14.7% between 2014 and 2024 while those of public workers rose by 11.7%.
