A "predatory and controlling" former police officer sexually abused a girl and a woman in a "pattern" of offending spanning many years, a court has heard. David Carrick, 50, is accused of repeatedly molesting the girl in the late 1980s, when she was aged 12 to 14 and he was still a teenager himself. The court was told Carrick would put his hand over her mouth to prevent her screaming. The jury also heard that on one occasion, she found herself "trapped" between a chair and a sofa and recalled
