On Friday, 24 October 2025, the African Union (AU) and the European Union (EU) organized a Joint AU-EU Breakfast Briefing on two important elements of the European Green Deal – the EU Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR) and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) . The Event took place at the African Union Commission’s headquarters just two weeks before the start of the 30 th UN Climate Change Conference (COP 30) from 10 to 21 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil, and one month before the AU-
