Firefighters are now being called to help obese people once every 3 hours 20 minutes, according to new figures. Approximately 1.9million UK adults are living with Class III obesity, formerly known as morbid obesity. Now, new data sourced by ZAVA has revealed that UK fire services attended 15,849 bariatric incidents between 2020 and 2025, equivalent to one bariatric rescue every 3 hours and 20 minutes. ZAVA sent Freedom of Information (FOI) requests to all 49 fire and rescue services in the UK
