Diesel surges to €2.50 on motorways as Iran war hits fuel prices

The effects of the war in Iran and the Middle East are already being felt at the pump in Italy.     Self-service gasoline around Italian ordinary roads has risen to €1.693 per liter, and diesel fuel to €1.753.     But on the motorway, consumer group Codacons reports, diesel fuel has reached €2.50.     Hauliers group Assotir reports increases in diesel prices "ranging from 10 cents in Lombardy to 24 in Sicily" and "fuel supply problems in Campania and Lombardy."
