The United States and Venezuela’s interim authorities have reached an agreement to restore diplomatic relations, marking the normalization of ties following the overthrow of Nicolás Maduro. The US Department of State announced the resumption of relations on Thursday, March 5. The restoration of diplomatic and consular ties “will facilitate joint efforts to promote stability, support economic recovery, and advance the process of political reconciliation in Venezuela,” the Department stated.
