More than 240 people are known to have been killed when an Air India passenger plane crashed seconds after take off from Ahmedabad in Gujarat, western India. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner came down in a densely-populated area of the city shortly after clearing the runway, causing devastation and many deaths on the ground.
