Oct. 10 (UPI) -- The government shutdown will continue at least into next week as members of Congress left Washington, D.C., Friday for a long weekend. Monday is a bank holiday -- the observance of Columbus Day -- in the United States, and the Senate had no votes on a continuing resolution to fund the government Friday.
