A breakthrough peace framework has been signed in Doha between the Democratic Republic of Congo   and Rwanda -backed M23 rebels. The deal, announced by Qatar and the United States, aims to halt deadly fighting in eastern Congo, where M23 has seized territory since 2021. The conflict has killed thousands and displaced millions, with more than 100 armed groups vying for control of the mineral-rich region. While past peace efforts have failed, this agreement offers hope for stability.
