The government’s attempt to prosecute resistance to the president’s mass deportations mission has been destructive, absurd, often contradicted by the evidence offered, and conspicuously unbound by law. The White House has also lost an uncharacteristic number of these cases , including, most recently, one that originated when federal prosecutors sought to charge a group of demonstrators for protesting the Broadview immigration detention center outside Chicago. Last week, the judge in the case
