More than one million children in Romania are growing up at risk of poverty or social exclusion, while hundreds of thousands remain outside the education system, according to a new report released by Save the Children Romania on International Children’s Day. The report paints a troubling picture of childhood in Romania, where economic hardship, unequal access to education and healthcare, and widening social disparities continue to affect a significant share of the country’s youngest generation.
