US bombers are now unleashing massive ‘bunker buster’ high-penetration bombs on Iran, capable of smashing targets up to 100ft underground. It is believed the US is unleashing 5,000-pound GBU-72/B Advanced 5000-pound Penetrators, designed to destroy deeply buried and reinforced structures. Sources suggest the most likely warplane being used is the B1 Bomber, of the type recently seen taking off from RAF Fairford, in the UK. It is not known if these planes were used in the latest attacks on Iran
