Bill C-5 'will not apply in our territories,' says grand chief

Nishnawbe Aski Nation Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler spoke out against the One Canadian Economy Act on Parliament Hill on Tuesday. The bill would allow the federal government to fast-track certain resource development or infrastructure projects. Fiddler said he and others are 'profoundly disappointed' in Prime Minister Mark Carney's approach, and that even if C-5 becomes law, it's not up to the federal government to 'dictate' how resources should be used.
