Thursday’s oral arguments in Chiles v. Salazar were a textbook example of how the Supreme Court’s conservative majority, when it’s aligned with right-wing legal groups, never fails to frame cases, laws, and issues in topsy-turvy ways. The “help” to which she referred is conversion therapy, a discredited treatment that seeks to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.
