Meningitis outbreak update as 7 more cases of deadly infection confirmed by UKHSA

The number of cases of meningitis linked to an outbreak in Kent has risen to 27, up from 20 previously, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said. Fifteen laboratory cases of meningitis were confirmed by UKHSA, as of March 18 at 5pm, with 12 cases under investigation, it said. Currently, cases have been confirmed in students at 4 schools in Kent, as well as one student at a higher education institution in London.
