Lando Norris won his maiden Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship after coming third in the deciding showdown in Abu Dhabi. Red Bull's Max Verstappen won the final race of the season from pole position, but Norris coming in third meant Verstappen was unable to overcome the McLaren driver's season points total of 423. 26-year-old Norris is the 11th British driver to win the championship and first since Sir Lewis Hamilton in 2020.
