Why more women are becoming organic farmers in Poland | Focus on Europe

In Poland, large-scale monoculture farming has expanded since EU accession, but a growing organic movement is pushing back. At the country’s only agro-ecology school in Grzybow, students learn sustainable farming, soil protection and biodiversity practices. The program attracts more women, who now run about a third of organic farms. Despite rising demand, small producers face market challenges. The initiative highlights a shift toward eco-friendly agriculture and female empowerment in farming.
