Romania's housing market posts weakest quarter in six years; Bucharest-Ilfov hits nine-year low

The fourth quarter of 2025 brought the weakest housing sales nationwide in six years, while in the Bucharest-Ilfov region transactions fell to a nine-year low, according to an analysis by real estate consultancy SVN Romania. Data compiled from the National Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising Agency shows that more than 159,500 houses and apartments were sold last year, down 5.3% from 2024.
