California home where Francis Ford Coppola wrote ‘The Godfather’ asks $6.75M

A Bay Area home seller is looking for an offer he can’t refuse. A three-residence estate in Mill Valley, a city about 13 miles north of San Francisco, that was the longtime home of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola has hit the market for $6.75 million.  Coppola bought the home in 1970, according to a 1981 article in the Mill Valley Record. He sold it in 1984, property records show.  It was from the property’s cottage, also known as the Nest, that Coppola wrote the screenplay for “The Godfather,”
