Italy is monitoring the 'Arctic Metagaz', a Russian tanker carrying a cargo of gas, oil, and diesel that has been adrift without a crew in the southern Mediterranean for several days, and is ready to support Malta in handling the situation, the government said after Premier Giorgia Meloni chaired a meeting on the ship.     "Italy has also confirmed its willingness to provide support, pending the decisions of the Maltese authorities, with whom it remains in constant contact," a statement said.
