A total of 17 countries across Europe, Middle East, Oceania and Southeast Asia launched a new framework, which aims to bring together nations with common interests in the security of critical underwater infrastructure such as subsea telecommunications cables. Singapore Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing announced the launch of the Guiding Principles for Underwater Infrastructure Defence Exchanges (GUIDE) at the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue on Saturday (May 30).
