Conflict today extends beyond geography, military power and immediate disputes, requiring countries to adapt while preserving international rules and norms, said Singapore's Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing. He also stressed the importance of flexible partnerships and strong domestic cohesion in responding to emerging security challenges. Mr Chan was speaking at a plenary session at the 2026 Shangri-La Dialogue on Sunday (May 31).
