Nearly 14 million people risk severe hunger due to funding cuts: World Food Programme

Close to 14 million people could be pushed into emergency levels of hunger due to severe funding cuts from top donors, said the World Food Programme in a new report. The United Nations agency is typically its most funded one, but said its finances have never been more challenged. Funding is set to fall 40 per cent this year, cutting the agency's budget to US$6.4 billion.
