Community vaccination program reduces pneumonia deaths among elderly in Japan

Hiroshima University Jul 3 2025 A research team has evaluated the real-world impact of a community-based pneumococcal vaccination support program for older adults conducted in Sera Town, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. Their work is published in the Journal of Epidemiology on May 5, 2025. Pneumonia is one of the leading causes of death in Japan.
